Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) is an intense emotional response to perceived rejection or criticism, commonly experienced by individuals with ADHD. While not an official diagnosis, it’s a term often used by clients and clinicians to describe a very real experience. In this 1 hr 15 min training, we’ll explore what RSD is, how it presents, and how to differentiate it from anxiety and mood disorders. We’ll also examine its impact on functioning and relationships, and outline a neurodiversity-affirming clinical approach for supporting clients who navigate this form of emotional sensitivity.
Training Includes:
-Summary of training information, including examples of neurodiversity affirming treatment goals, objectives and interventions related to RSD, resources and research references
-1 page RSD Handout that can be shared with clients
